Price trend for motorhomes in 2025: Price decline not yet over!

Prices for new and used motorhomes in Germany fell more sharply in 2024 than they have for more than fifteen years. The main reason for the exorbitant fall in prices is likely to be oversaturation of the market after several very successful years and simultaneously weak demand for leisure vehicles. Added to this are persistently high inflation and still above-average interest rates on loans. Quite a few people simply can no longer afford to buy a new motorhome.

Basically, not everything is bad: the market for used motorhomes is experiencing stable growth at a low level (see chart below). The latest figures from the Federal Motor Transport Authority at the end of 2024 indicate a slightly positive trend for the used vehicle market in 2025. As of November 30, 2024, exactly 101,109 used motorhomes had changed hands, even surpassing the booming "coronavirus years" of 2020 to 2021. The flip side of the coin is the steadily falling prices for both used and new motorhomes. A study by a renowned market research institute in cooperation with caravanmarkt24 has determined that prices have fallen by a double-digit percentage across all classes. A stabilization of prices is not yet in sight. This would only come about when supply and demand are in balance and sales prices are more in line with the market.

Motorhome manufacturers will once again be launching a large number of new models on the market in 2025, while dealers will continue to struggle with full yards and remaining stock from 2023 and 2024. This development suggests that the supply of vehicles will far outstrip demand in 2025. Incentives from dealers in the form of discounts and free accessories are just a drop in the ocean. We can therefore expect prices to continue to fall and values to drop in 2025.
